For year I have used Dr. Edward de Bono's six thinking hats. There are six colors in no particular order and help us get out of the rut of the same old ways of thinking. White hat thinking is the "give me the facts, mam. Just give me the facts." Often in education we never get past this hat and this way of information recall and regurgitaton.
Here are the hats and what they represent. Try them out and stretch your mind and expand your horizons.
